Fall weddings

“Now is the time of the illuminated woods... every leaf glows like a tiny lamp.”
– John Burroughs

The days feel cooler and the light shorter, signaling a slower and cozier time ahead. My mind starts thinking about vineyards, richer color and lots of texture. Autumn wedding flowers give their last burst of life, so collecting and using them seems extra precious. A favorite memory from last fall was combining a couple's love of coffee into their celebration. The aisle was decorated with tall glass trumpet vases crowned with green pomander balls. After the ceremony, we transformed the flowers to table top decor where they rested upon vases filled with aromatic, glossy brown coffee beans. Wedding reception flowers can often be refashioned and prove absolutely perfect for both venues.
